Weston Zimmerman

CEO and Founder

Weston Zimmerman started in landscaping as a teenager at Tussey Landscaping in central Pennsylvania. Over 15 years he grew to lead crews on award-winning design/build projects while diving deep into operations and leadership. Struggling with figuring out profitability and dealing with over complicated workflows between the office and field, he co-founded SynkedUP — a business management app built by contractors, for contractors. Now leading SynkedUP, Weston is driven to end entrepreneurial poverty in the trades and help blue-collar contractors build profitable, thriving businesses.

2nd Mistake Contractors Make When Estimating Labor

Last week I started a series on the 3 top mistakes I see contractors make when they are estimating labor. The first one was not calculating labor in “full, entire day intervals”. Meaning to fix it, do not bid in partial days. (e.g. 3 and 1/2 days. Round up…

Should we as contractors give discounts on jobs? I dare say we’ve all been there and done it at some point. And if you did it for long enough, you probably no longer do them. 😅 The story usually goes something like this. You slide the proposal across the table.
